Vulgar, I know, but we all need a little humor in our lives. |
The saying that the way to a man's heart is through is stomach is so unbelievably true that it's almost sad. That's like saying that men aren't at all particular and that it's very easy to keep them happy. It's kind of insulting. Well ladies... it's true! At the risk of sounding like a 1950s housewife, cooking for your guy is one great way to keep him happy. I try to cook for my boyfriend once or twice a week. He never complains about what I make him and he loves everything I cook. This past Saturday I made him roasted asparagus with parmesan and the night before that, I made chewy chocolate chip cookies for him and his gaming group. The cookies went fast and were very popular. If my boyfriend's tummy is happy, then he's happy.
I know I'm going to catch quite a bit of flack for telling women to use the kitchen as a means of keeping their significant other content in the relationship. Before you all channel your inner Betty Friedan and set the feminist lynch mob on me, hear me out. We all like to feel as though we are being taken care of. We all want to be spoiled once in a while. Women prefer to be spoiled with attention or material things while men are much simpler. If a man is lucky enough to find a woman that is Julia Child in the kitchen, a lady in the street, and a freak in the bed, he will marry her! Again, men are not complicated regarding what makes them satisfied in relationships. So long as you fulfill those three bullet points in addition to being drama-free, you have successfully made your man happy.
Right now, my boyfriend remains blissful through my cooking prowess and loving nature. I don't mind looking like a Stepford wife by cooking for him often. If it helps to keep him happy, then I'll gladly throw on some high heels and pearls and vacuum the house while my homemade apple pie is baking in the oven!
